Sylvester A. Wilhelm, 91, Marshfield, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Wells Nature View Assisted Living on S. Adams Av.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Rozellville, where the visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time. Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Sylvester was born on January 9, 1928 in the Town of Day, Marathon County, to Alois and Agnes (Brock) Wilhelm, Sr., and was a graduate of St. Andrew’s Parochial School, Rozellville. He married Mary E. King on April 30, 1952 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Edgar. She died on October 5, 1991.

The Wilhelm’s farmed in different locations and in 1959 they purchased a farm in the Stratford area where they lived for almost 40 years.

He is survived by three children, Barbara (Randy) Trudeau of Marshfield, Bernard Wilhelm of Wausau, and Bonita (Rob) Kruger of Litchfield, MN. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. His grandchildren are Shawn Trudeau (Kathleen Trudeau-Mahoney); David (Bethany) Adamski and their children. Alayna and Abigail; and Elizabeth (Bryce) Berg and their children, Everett and Amelia. He is further survived by his siblings, Eugene Wilhelm, Marie (Leon) Schneider, and Alois Wilhelm, all of Marshfield, Joyce (Dave) Haag of DeForest and Shirley (Jim) Reel of Wausau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son in infancy, and brothers, Raymond, Richard, Vincent and Norman Wilhelm.

Memorials may be designated in his name to St. Andrew’s Parish, Rozellville, to be used for upgrading the restroom facilities.
