Obituary for Robert Leon Parochka

Robert Leon Parochka, 69, Marshfield, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, November 23, 2018 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 9:30 am until service time.  Rev. Samuel Martin will officiate. Entombment will be in Hillside Cemetery Mausoleum where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post   54 of Marshfield.

Robert was born on December 10, 1948 in Rockford, IL, to Leon and Marian (Froelich) Parochka. He was a 1966 graduate of Stratford High School. After his education he entered the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War from July 18, 1966 until his honorable discharge on June 16, 1969.

Bob was employed in sales at Monroe Truck Equipment, Marshfield, where he worked for over 20 years until his territory was cut. He happily retired from V & H Trucks, Inc.

Bob was a proud Republican and enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, playing softball and cards. He loved spending time with family and friends and especially his grandkids.

He is survived by four children and five grandchildren, Tammy Parochka of Park Falls; Tracy (Jamie) Schutz and their daughter, Jessica of Stratford; Adam (Katie) Parochka and their children, Vivian, Lucy, Winnie and Abby of LaCrescent, MN; and Chris Parochka of Wausau. He is also survived by a brother, John (Sheila) Parochka and a sister, Marilyn (Ken) Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Bonnie Emons.

Memorials may be designated in his name to The Wounded Warriors or St. John’s Catholic Church.
