Phil was born on June 26, 1944 in Marshfield to Charles and Agnes (Cherney) Lang. He graduated from Auburndale High School in 1962. On October 9, 1965 he was united in marriage to Sharon Schill at St. James Catholic Church in Vesper.

Phil loved spending time with his wife, children, family and friends. Whether watching the grandkids in sports or concerts, or just talking at the kitchen table, Phil always had a story to tell. In addition to raising their four children, Phil and Sharon did foster care for 25 years. He was a life-long dairy farmer who took pleasure in taking care of the animals and planting and harvesting crops. Despite a barn fire and serious farming-related injury, Phil’s passion toward farming endured. When not farming, he could be found watching or listening to Packer and Brewer games, at the casino, or enjoying a meal at Melody Garden’s with Sharon and his brother David after a shopping trip to Fleet Farm. Phil and Sharon also loved taking vacations down South. He loved to host the Lang family summer party and play cards with his friends. He bowled for many years in Stevens Point with the KC League. After retiring from dairy farming, Phil transported the Amish to their work and social events. Phil was loved and will be dearly missed by all.

He was a member of St. Kilian’s Catholic Church, St. Kilian’s Parish Council, and Knights of Columbus Council #4646 in Junction City.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, children, Tina (Bill) Gerrettie of Wisconsin Rapids, Kimberly (Mark) Gilbertson of Wausau, Kurt (Karrie) Lang of Marshfield, Aaron (Kelly) Lang of Stevens Point, and, foster son, Jeff Cline, grandchildren, William, Nicholas (Keely), Riley, Byron, Meta, Caitlyn, Taylor, Kenna, Joshua, and Morgan, and great granddaughter, Lenora. He is further survived by his siblings, Janet (Ray) Henke, Elizabeth “Betty” (Marvin) Erdmann, Edward (Delores) Lang, and David Lang.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Agnes, nephew, Thomas Henke, and parents-in-law, Fred and Laura Schill.
