Norbert A. “Norby” Schultz

Age 80, of Marshfield formerly Spencer, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 16, 2021, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spencer with Rev. Lowell Bolstad officiating. He will be laid to rest in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Brighton following services. Military honors will be conducted by Spencer American Legion Post 298. Family and friends are invited to gather at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer on Thursday, April 15, 2021, from 5 PM until 8 PM and again on Friday at the church from 10 AM until the time of service. The honor of pallbearer belongs to Jacob Schultz, Carson Wodinowich, Nicholas Schultz, Kyle Schultz, Roger Rarick, Patrick Mateer, John Meyer, and Joshua Anderson.

Norby was born on October 26, 1940, in Spencer, the son of Arthur and Adelia (Schwantes) Schultz. He was a graduate of Spencer High School. He was employed as a carpenter for Marawood Construction Company in Marshfield. On April 26, 2003, he was united in marriage to Marnay Miller at North Spencer Lutheran Church.

He was a member of Saint John’s Lutheran Church, serviced his community as a volunteer firefighter with the Spencer Fire Department from 1967 to 2000, and a longtime member of the American Legion.

His hobbies included going on road trips and camping. He liked to play Sheepshead with family and friends and attend Brewer games. Most of all, he loved spending time with his 32 grandkids.

Those that will cherish his memory include his wife, Marnay; his children: Jamie (Matt) Salzwedel of Spencer, Nick (Kim) Schultz of Loyal, Kyle Schultz of Spencer, Diane (Roger) Rarick of Loyal, Mark (Patricia) Trojan of Willard, Kevin (Ashley) Trojan of Loyal, Rebecca (Patrick) Mateer of Spencer, Sherry (Joshua) Anderson of Marshfield and Mary (John) Meyer of Cornell; his 32 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren along with many other relatives, friends, and comrades.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Adelia; his sisters, Mabel Mileke, Berdine Kraus, and Eunice Luepke and his brother, Bud Schultz, and a brother Wilbur who died in infancy.
