Obituary for Marie Schmoll

Marie “Auntie” Christine Schmoll, 97, Marshfield, died peacefully October 18, 2019, at home with family by her side. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 East Veterans Parkway, Marshfield. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran cemetery, Marshfield. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm Tuesday until the time of the service at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

Marie was born November 30, 1921, in the town of McMillian to William Zopfi and Anna (nee Jehle) Zopfi. She received her education at the East Kerwin School House. Afterwards, Marie worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory while helping her parents on the family farm.

She married William Schmoll on February 16, 1957, and together they owned and operated a farm in the town of McMillian. They had two sons Donald William and Ronald David. Marie was an extraordinarily loving, kind person. She loved spending time with her family and devoted her life to taking care of others, namely her son Ronald, and many nieces and nephews. She blessed the lives of all who were fortunate to know and love her.

Marie enjoyed outdoor activities, such as planting flowers, washing and polishing cars, and finding items for others at neighborhood garage sales. In addition, she was very fond of puzzles and word finds, but Marie’s most memorable moments were time spent with her son Ronald, her nephew Travis, her nieces Stacy and Beverly, and her friend Esther Hoffman. Auntie will forever be remembered in the hearts of many.

Auntie is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons; Donald and Ronald Schmoll, brothers; Harold, Ervin, and Leonard Zopfi, and sister; Dorothy Tagatz.
