Lucille L. Adamus, 89, Marshfield, passed away due to COVID on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Marshfield Medical Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield, where a visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Rev. Douglas Robertson will officiate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Lucille was born on October 20, 1931, in Stratford, to Joseph and Anna (Gerl) Nikolai. She attended St. Joseph’s Parochial School, Stratford; St. Rose Convent for three years; and graduated from Stratford High School.

After her education, she worked and lived in Chicago. It was there that she met Joseph Adamus and they were married on December 29, 1951. Lucille raised her family in Chicago and after retirement, she moved to Marshfield in 1997.

Lucille was an accomplished musician, playing piano, organ, accordion, guitar, and harmonica. She sang in many choirs during her life. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, and volunteering at the Senior Craft Shoppe in Marshfield. She was a lover of animals, especially cats.

She is survived by her children, Mitchell (Susie) Adamus of West Chicago, IL; Steven Adamus of San Diego, CA; Luanne Adamus of Evanston, IL; Christine (Jeff) Mundy of Palatka, FL; and Vincent (Victoria) Adamus of Cleveland, OH. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Matthew “Blake”, Jacob, Hunter, Duncan, Allison, and Casey, and one great-granddaughter, Sienna. She is further survived by two brothers, Patrick (Helen) Nikolai of Stratford and Richard (Marie) Nikolai of Colby.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters Leonor Hanneman and Jeanette Richards; and brothers Jim and Clarence Nikolai.

Memorials may be designated to Marshfield Area Pet Shelter (MAPS).
