Larry Jokipii Jr.

Lawrence “Larry” J. Jokipii Jr., 54, Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021.

There will be two celebrations of life. The first will be held from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 9th at his daughter Sara’s house, 10299 Township Court, Marshfield. The second will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, October 10th at Jack Pine Saloon, 699 S. Main St, Adams. Friends and family are welcome at either or both.

Larry was born on August 25, 1967 in Duluth, Minnesota to Lawrence and Sandra (Poaletti) Jokipii. He attended Hurley High School and later served in the United States Marine Corps. He learned mechanical work, welding, and heavy equipment operating, which he continued to use as an owner/operator in various excavating and demolition endeavors.

Larry was a father to three children and an awesome grandfather of six. He always made an entrance and gave over the top gifts. He shared his love of the outdoors, target practice, and heavy equipment with his son. Larry recently fulfilled a lifelong dream with a trip to Alaska with his brother, Jason and good friend, Bob. He was best known for his sayings, “concrete and steel,” “lightning fast with catlike reflexes,” and “tough as nails.”

He is survived by his daughters, Sara (Anthony) Luchini and Samantha Jokipii, son, Joseph (Morgan Pritzl) Jokipii, and grandchildren, Rylee Jokipii, Olivia, Owen, and Noah Luchini, and Silas and Asher Howley. He is also survived by his father, Larry (Rita) Jokipii Sr., mother, Sandy (Bruce) Gordon, sisters, Terry Jokipii and Sheri “Rosie” (Perry) Finco, and brother, Jason Jokipii. He is further survived by his ex-wife Jennie Bravatto and love of his life, Kendra White.
