Obituary for Katie Buelt

Katherine J. Buelt, 94, Pittsville, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at House of the Dove, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, November 12, 2021 at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Pittsville, with Father Nathan officiating. The service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will be in the parish cemetery and family members will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be from 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 11, at Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville and from 9:30 am until service time on Friday at St. Joachim Catholic Church. A rosary service will be held at 4:30 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.

Katherine was born the youngest of 13, on August 21, 1927 in Templeton, Iowa, to Anthony and Mary (Whiskus) Soppe. She was united in marriage to Louis A. Buelt on July 16, 1953 in Halbur, Iowa. He died on November 24, 2005.

Katie had been employed as a waitress and a cook at various places retiring from Bethel Center. In her younger years, she loved to bowl. She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, quilting, crocheting and playing cards. Katie always enjoyed going to a party and loved spending time with her family. She also belonged to the Parish Council of Catholic Women.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth Buelt (Amy Callahan) of Madison, Doris (Gerald) Lesmeister of Arpin, Randy Buelt of Pittsville, Joseph (Mary) Buelt of Kansas City, MO, Donald Buelt of Pittsville and Ann Heisler of Marshfield. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Jami Vittalio, Ashley Buelt, Katie (Robert) Hartwig, Karen (Zachary) Kotek, Kelly (Timothy) Kremer, Patrick Buelt, Rachel (Jeremy) Murphy, April Buelt (Cory Johnson), Cody (Megan) Heisler, and Jessica Heisler and 10 great grandchildren, Kristja Vittalio, Mikayla Vittalio, Curtis Hartwig, Carrieann Hartwig, Kira Kotek, Kathy Kotek, Thomas Kremer, Olivia Murphy, Addison Murphy, and Jackson Heisler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Sandra Kay Buelt, a son-in-law, Lyle Heisler and 12 brothers and sisters.

The family would like to thank the House of Dove & their employees, Erin’s Care Solutions, Compassus, Inclusa and Jolene Schiller for all their great care and support for mom.
