Obituary for Joyce Rogney

Joyce Susan (Bornbach) Rogney, 83, Auburndale, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Auburndale, where visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time. Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam will officiate. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Alan Rogney, Nick Linzmeier, Mike Rogney, Jared Rogney, Kyle Willfahrt and Tyler Brandt and honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Kaleb Brandt, Dan Rogney, Aaron Linzmeier and Davey Greunke. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Joyce was born on September 13, 1938 in Marshfield to Joseph and Viola (Potts) Bornbach. She attended St. Andrew’s School in Rozellville and was a 1956 graduate of Stratford High School. She married the love of her life Clifford “Ollie” Rogney on September 28, 1957 at St. Andrew’s Church in Rozellville. Her engagement ring was sent to her from France while Ollie was in the service there. After graduation she went to the Milwaukee area to babysit for her future brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Helen Pankratz. She then returned to Auburndale and worked at Normington Dry Cleaners and Roddis (Weyerhaeuser) until she started a family in 1959. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and active in the Park Association by operating the food stand during Polka Fest for numerous years.

After raising her children, she worked at the school hot lunch program, Figi’s, and Wiskerchen Cheese Factory. Her passion was following the Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals for which her husband Ollie adored.  She enjoyed many casino trips and was very lucky at Lady Luck in Vegas. She loved the game sheepshead and played weekly at local bar, but she wasn’t as good as Ollie. Joyce always kept the cookie jar full of the best cookies ever.

She is survived by her children, James (Donna Hilber) Rogney, Terry (Bonnie) Rogney, Dave (Vicki) Rogney, Sandy (Gary) Linzmeier, Judy Willfahrt (fiancé, Ron Rodemeier) and Diane Rogney. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, Mike, Kristin, Mike, Jake, Alan, Dan, Davey, Jodi, Jamie, Jared, Nick, Aaron, Kyle, Kari, Tyler, Kaleb, Paige and Shalee and 15 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, Marie Esser of Marshfield, Pat Meyer of Wind Lake, Elaine (Butch) Joswiak of Stratford, Ken (Cindy) Bornbach of Machesney Park, IL, Jean (Paul) Stueber of Stratford, and Matt Bornbach of Rockford, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Brian Lee Rogney, grandson, Joseph Brandt, sisters, Eunice Bohman and Catherine Bornbach, and brother, Ronald Bornbach.
