Joan M. Lingford, 72, Marshfield, passed away with family at her side on Monday, May 10, 2021, at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Rev. Keith Kitzhaber officiating. The service will be live-streamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery at a later date.  The visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, and from 9:00 am until service time on Saturday at Sacred Heart Church.

Joan was born in Marshfield, along with her twin brother, John, on April 22, 1949, to John and Mabel (Vandenbergen) Poppy. She was a 1967 graduate of Auburndale High School. She was united in marriage to Robert M. Lingford on October 26, 1968, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Auburndale.

Joan worked for 42 years as a unit clerk in the recovery room at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, retiring in 2010. She enjoyed life with her high school sweetheart and husband of 52 years, family and friends, playing bingo, bowling, casino trips, and taking in Elvis impersonator shows. She volunteered for the American Legion and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was the life of the party with her one-of-a-kind spunk.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Bob, and their daughters, Dawn Brost (Larry Hebert) of Loyal and Ann Lingford (Corina Leffel-Dickmann) of Marshfield. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Michael Brost (Tony Luebke), Brian Brost (Jami Murphy), Nicholas Brost, Jeremy Brost, Alexander Brost (Kara Milkey), and Michayla Lingford, and one great-granddaughter Josie Mae Brost. She is further survived by siblings, DuWayne (Patricia) Poppy, Sharon (Ivan) Fuerlinger and twin brother John (Jeanne) Poppy, and a sister-in-law, Sue Poppy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother David Poppy and a sister Dolores “Bootsie” Klein.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family who will make a donation in Joan’s name to a charity.
