Jennie E. Markiewicz Haffenbredl

Jennie E. Markiewicz Haffenbredl, 92, Auburndale, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, July 12, 2021, at House of the Dove, Marshfield.

A private family visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Auburndale. The service will be live-streamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes.   Rev. Murali Anand Rayappan will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Jennie was born on August 1, 1928, in Cook County, Illinois, to Michael and Anna (Butkiewicz) Markiewicz. She spent her childhood in Milladore and attended Stepping Stone School. She was united in marriage to Leo P. Haffenbredl on October 6, 1945, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Milladore, and they were married for 60 years.  He died on December 6, 2005.

Jennie spent many hours working on their farm with Leo. She also was a homemaker who loved to entertain family and friends, an avid gardener, and an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by seven children, Judy (Skip) Brown, Carol (Don) Ely, Paul (Carol) Haffenbredl, Mary (Jon) Sender, Tom (special friend – Jaci) Haffenbredl, Anne (Tom) Mueller, and Joan (Pat) Lucas. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Strigel, Alexandria “Elsie” Haffenbredl, and Stella Vakoc and brothers, Alexander, Joseph, and Walter Markiewicz.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Auburndale.

The family would like to thank the House of the Dove for the dedicated and compassionate care they provided for their mother.
