Janet was born on October 31, 1927, in the Town of Sigel, Wood County, to Michael and Janet (Phillipkowski) Jackan. She was a 1946 graduate of Rudolph High School, Wisconsin Rapids. She was united in marriage to James F. Weiler on October 29, 1949, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Sigel. He died on September 19, 1995.

Prior to her marriage Janet was employed at Preway, Inc. and then at WFHR radio station, both in Wisconsin Rapids. After their marriage, the Weilers farmed in the Town of Auburndale, where they lovingly raised their 8 children. Upon retirement, they built a home and moved to Apache Gardens in Auburndale.  After Jim’s death, she resided at Cedar Rail Senior Living and most recently at Wells.  She enjoyed playing Sheepshead and Bingo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, John in infancy, her husband, Jim, a daughter-in-law, Wanda Weiler, a son-in-law, Phillip Blum, a granddaughter, Kelly Tomfohrde, brothers, Luke, Victor, Edward, John, George, Larry and Dominic Jackan and sisters, Theresa Joosten, Connie Schliesman, Julia Johnson, and Marie Schuetz and brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Thomas Weiler and a sister-in-law, Roseline Weiler.

Even though Covid restrictions prevented her loved ones from physical contact, we knew she was in good hands at Wells.  Throughout the past year, she remained her cheerful, happy self and was always dressed in her stylish outfits.  Of course, no outfit was complete without her lipstick!  She will be sorely missed and forever loved as she rests in eternal peace.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Wells Nature View, 2807 S. Apple Avenue, Marshfield, for their kind and loving care.
