Obituary for Dorothy Worzella

Dorothy M. Worzella, 90, Marshfield, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Stoney River Assisted Living.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Auburndale with visitation from 9:30 until service time at the church. Rev. Murali Anand Rayappan will officiate. The service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Dorothy was born on April 20, 1931 in Rhinelander to Samuel W. and Amanda (Zettler) O’Brien. She married Alfred “Fritz” Worzella on April 15, 1950 in Auburndale.

Family always came first for Dorothy. She loved writing poetry for family and friends. She also enjoyed showing ponies, snowmobiling, traveling, writing letters, reading, swimming, playing Canasta and board games, music, dancing, animals, baking at Worzella’s Farmers Store, and entertaining people with her jokes. She also made 337 tied blankets in her spare time.

She is survived by her 12 children; Linda (Alan) Grassl of Park Falls, Nancy Lee of Madison, Tim (Sheryl) Worzella of Auburndale, Denny Worzella of Auburndale, Laura (Robert) Biller or Mesquite, NV, Doug (Ara) Worzella of Marshfield, Janice Worzella of Greendale, Bruce Worzella of Milladore, Russ (Sally) Worzella of Auburndale, Larry (Ann) Worzella of Kennesaw, GA, Mike (Vicki) Worzella of Mosinee, and Beth Worzella (Michael Rohrer) of Racine; 24 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother-in-law, Dr. G.V. Beyerl, sister-in-law, Bonnie Worzella, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 50 years, Alfred, 4 babies in infancy, sister Jeanette and brother-in-law Dough Monahan, sister Betty and brother-in-law Everand Guilmette, stepmother Clyde O’Brien, stepbrother Vernon Baudhuin, sisters-in-law, Pat Beyerl and Joyce, brother-in-law LaVern Handrick, brother and sister-in-law Jerald and Genny Worzella, and nephews Mike Monahan, Jim Handrick, and David Worzella.
