Obituary for Dorothy E. Schreiner

Dorothy E. Schreiner, age 87, former Stratford resident, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2019.

There will be no visitation or funeral per family wishes. Private memorial services will be at a later date. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield, WI.

Dorothy [Schmidt] Schreiner was born on March 25, 1932 to Elsie [Schmid] and Goddard Schmidt. She was baptized at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of McMillan and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford, WI. Dorothy attended Stratford Public Schools and graduated class valedictorian in 1950.

She attended the College of Medical Technology and Radiology, Minneapolis and graduated with a certified degree in Medical Technology.

Dorothy married Frank Schreiner on January 24, 1953 at First Lutheran Church, Decorah, Iowa. They briefly lived in Cadott, WI where she worked at a local clinic. They then returned to Stratford where Frank built a home west of Stratford. In 2011 they moved to Hewitt, WI, where she presently resided.

Survivors besides her husband are her three daughters; Diane [Gary] Wiesman, Stratford, Janet Lieders, Marshfield, Karen [Jeff] Schwantes, Stratford, a brother-in-law; Rupert [Marlys] Schreiner, Montana, grandchildren; Mardy Wiesman, Miller’s Bay, Paige [Gaven] Schwarze, Stratford, Erica [Jake Reif] Lieders, Marshfield and a greatgrandchild; Hazel Schwarze.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents; Elsie and Goddard Schmidt, a brother; Kenneth Schmidt, sister-in-law; Louise Mews and brother-in-law; Richard Mews.
