Donald Arthur Becker, 84, Marshfield, was called to heaven with his family by his side on Thursday, October 14, 2021, the night before the 3rd anniversary of his wife’s death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Keith Kitzhaber officiating. The service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mashfield and serving as pallbearers will be his grandson, Caden Machtan, brothers, Allen and Harold Becker, and nephews, Greg, Adam, and John Becker. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 54 – Marshfield. Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 20 at Rembs Funeral Home and from 10:00 am until service time on Thursday at the church.

Don was born on February 2, 1937 in Loyal, the son of Arthur and Viola (Loos) Becker. He was raised on 26th Road in Loyal all of his childhood and attended Lyons School, St. Anthony’s Catholic School, and Loyal High School. He was a 1956 graduate of Loyal High School.

He worked for Roddis Mfg until 1960. He served in the United States Army form 1960 until 1962. He was honorably discharged in April 1962, having attained the rank of Private.

On August 22, 1964, he was united in marriage to Barbara Kopp at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal.

He was employed at Mill’s Fleet Farm for 37 years, retiring in 1999.

In 2016, Don attended the Never Forgotten Honor Flight in Washington D.C. where he was honored for his years of service in the U.S. Army.

Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, woodworking, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children and grandchildren; Lori (Charlie Schneider) Machtan: Melissa, Lisa (Tom) Konrardy: Emily, and Peggy (Chris) Machtan: Gabrielle and Caden. He is also survived by his siblings, Yvonne (James) Gies, Diann (Don) Pergande, Sister Mary Becker, Allen (Carol) Becker, and Harold (Rose) Becker, sister-in-law, Marge Becker, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Viola, wife, Barb, parents-in-law, Arthur and Martha Kopp, and brother, Conrad Becker.
