Clifton W. Craft, 92, Marshfield, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield, where a visitation will be from 9:00 am on Tuesday until service time. Rev. Keith Kitzhaber will officiate. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Clifton was born on February 24, 1926 in Marshfield, the son of Oliver and Florence (Smith) Craft and was a graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. He married Betty G. Kipp on May 28, 1947 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year.

As a young man, and raising a family, Cliff worked for Swift and Company, trucking meat to stores and in his very little spare time he built houses for his family. In 1966 Cliff was hired at V & H Ford. With this job he found his niche as a salesman and sold heavy duty trucks and gained great friendships with many repeated customers. He continued to work for V & H until 1985 when he ventured to Craft’s Trading Center until retirement.

Cliff and Betty spent 20 plus years wintering in McAllen, Texas. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada and woodworking, but mostly spending time with family. His highlight was teaching his children and grandchildren to water ski on Lake Owen.

He is survived by his wife, Betty and their children, Maribeth (Leon) Knaak and Jim Craft, all of Marshfield. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Brian (Michele) Hopperdietzel, David (Michelle) Hopperdietzel, Eric (Amanda) Hopperdietzel, Tim (Dawn Lindblom) Knaak, Jody (Ryan) Frodermann, Lori (Matt) Mei ster, Kelli (Rick) Seidl, and Dan (Samantha) Craft and 16 great grandchildren. He is further survived by a son-in-law, John Hopperdietzel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Dennis in infancy, a daughter, Joyce Hopperdietzel, a brother, Kenneth and sister, Fern Gotz.

The family wishes to thank Heartland Hospice and Aster’s Assistant Living Center for the care and compassion they showed Cliff and family during this difficult time.
