Anthony P. Hastreiter passed away peacefully on January 2, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Anthony was born on December 5, 1931, in the town of Marshfield to Anton and Helen (Hornick) Hastreiter.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Florence, his parents, and his siblings, Jerome, Lucille, Marie (Sr. Agnes Therese), James and Charles.

He is survived by his children, Jeff Hastreiter, Diane Hastreiter, Steve (Gina) Hastreiter, Mary (Brian) Scheibe and Joe (Jenny) Hastreiter. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren that gave him his greatest joy: Matthew (Danae), Sam, Nathan, and Ava Hastreiter, Maddy, Maya and Reese Scheibe, Norah, Pierce and Reid Hastreiter, his loving sister, Barbara Kester and many nieces and nephews.

Anthony married Florence, the love of his life, on October 1, 1960. Above all, he took care of his family and had an unwavering faith in God. He was the strongest, kindest, and gentlest man his family knew. There was nothing Anthony couldn’t do. He was a plasterer, mechanic, electrician, and a plumber. He loved the wilderness, hunting and fishing, and took his entire family in tow. Countless stories will be passed down through the generations of his adventures to the north woods of Wisconsin and into the Canadian wilderness. We will be forever grateful for the love and guidance that he was never in short supply of. His memory will be carried in our hearts forever.

There will be a small, private, family gathering to honor Anthony in the upcoming weeks.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the Marshfield Hospital ICU and Palliative Care teams who helped to make him as comfortable as he could possibly be in his final days.
