MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – After a year-long remodel of their facility on McMillan Ave in Marshfield, North Ridge Church is providing a new and improved way to worship.

The church has been using a space formerly occupied by the retail store chain JC Penney while the building was being remodeled.

NRC Pastor Preston Tippen said the church staff and members did a fantastic job transforming the empty store into a place of worship.

“It’s been amazing to see creativity come through so many different people who were a part of [the transformation],” Tippen said. “It’s been an amazing blessing to see church family, to see staff adapt not just roles and what they’re good at, but to say, ‘Hey, I’m here. I want to serve our community and the best way we can do that is to get this church building ready to be an open space for ministry to happen so that people can connect with each other and with Jesus.'”

The building features a new-and-improved kids’ ministry area with a stage, game-area, and much more. Before the expansion, kids had a hallway that was used for children’s ministry and the church has now more than doubled the size of their area for kids to learn and play.

The building also has a new worship area for adults with increased seating, spacing and a new stage area.

Tippen said the new additions will make the church an open space for fellowship all days of the week instead of just one day.

“We love the expanded space because it creates more breathing room, as well as individual spaces for people to hang out not just on Sunday morning,” Tippen said. “Being in a place where they can come, can worship Jesus, can connect with him but also with their friends and neighbors is an awesome blessing.”

The entrance to the church is revamped with a fellowship area including games, a café, an indoor fireplace and much more.
