Motorcyclist Injured After Deer Collision

At 9:05 a.m. on Thursday, Wood County Dispatch center received a report of a motorcycle vs deer accident on STH 34 in the Township of Rudolph. The driver was southbound when a deer ran out in front of the motorcycle, according to a news release.

He was airlifted to Marshfield Medical Center by Life Link III. Speed and alcohol are not factors in the incident. The driver was not wearing a helmet.

The motorcyclist is identified as 59 year-old Daniel Porcaro of Stevens Point. His condition is unknown.

Wood County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Wisconsin Rapids Police, Wisconsin State Patrol, Wood County Rescue, Rudolph Fire Department, Rudolph First Responders, United Ambulance, and Life Link III.
