Mosinee Thrashes Lakeland, Sweeps Doubleheader

Mosinee hosted Lakeland  in a conference double header, and picked up 21-1 and 10-0 wins.

The Indians pitching would once again keep their opponents on ice as their bats were red hot all night. Mosinee would take game 1 in 5 innings with a score of 10-0 and double down the second game 21-1 in 5, as well. Game 1 featured Keagen Jirschele starting on the mound, tossing 4 shutout innings, striking out 6 and walking two.  Taylor Lemanski came in to pitch the last inning, striking out 1 and walking 1. Mosinee had 6 extra base hits in the game. Jirschele would go 3-3 in the game with 2 doubles, a triple and 2 stolen bases. Drake Grod had 2 hits including a double as well.

Garret Shupe and Gavin Obremski also had doubles in the game. In game 2, Mosinee came out of the gates swinging, plating 8 runs in the first. Shupe would get the start on the mound and dominate pitching 4 innings, striking out 10 and walking none.  The only hit allowed in the game came on a swinging bunt to the first hitter he faced. Davin Stoffel would come on and toss the last inning striking out 2 and walking 1. The Indians had 14 hits in the game and were led by Stoffel’s 2 doubles and 3 RBIs.  Obremski had 3 hits and Jirschele added 2 more hits to his day.  Eli Miland added a double and 3 RBIs, as well. Mosinee improved to 6-1 and 3-0 in conference.

Mosinee’s pitching has now gone 7 games without an earned run allowed.

The Indians will host Marshfield on Monday at 5:00.
