Mosinee split in a double dual with Shawano and Xavier in boys’ soccer action.

In the first game Mosinee dominated play over Shawano in the first half with nothing to show for it. The Shawano keeper handled all the shots Mosinee took. The Hawks drew first blood when their forward was fouled in the penalty area, leading to a penalty kick. At halftime it was Shawano 1, Mosinee 0.

The second half was a different story, Mosinee scored in the second half when they scored three goals in three minutes from the 49–52-minute marks. Noah Stencil got his name in the book for the first time this season with one of the goals.

Shawano got a late, inconsequential goal to draw closer, but Mosinee won, 4-2.

In the second game Mosinee played Xavier. Mosinee scored first with Toren Holtz delivering the opener. Xavier equalized when Mosinee could not quite clear a ball out of the penalty area. Mosinee moved ahead again, making it 2-1.

The decisive play of the game came in the second half when Xavier won a free kick from about 25 yards out. The Xavier forward went unnoticed, and the free kick was sent to him, and he was able to finish.

The final goal was a sort of fluke: Mosinee cleared the ball, but right into a Xavier player. The ball took a perfect trajectory over Mosinee’s keeper. Mosinee put pressure on to the end but could not equalize. Final score was Xavier 3, Mosinee 2.
