Mosinee Boys Power Past New London

Mosinee defeated New London in nonconference boys basketball, 65-52.

The New London Bulldogs traveled to Mosinee for a non-conference matchup on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. The Bulldogs would win the tip and get on the board first. Mosinee would respond by going on a 28-12 run with 90 seconds to play in the first half. Drake Grod would bury 3 triples in a row during that run.

Mosinee would give up a pair of threes, one each to Keagan Reybrock and Jackson Fields to take a 30-20 lead into halftime. Mosinee would force 5 turnovers and get 16 stops in the first half, including stringing together 5 kills (3 or more stops/turnovers in a row).

Mosinee would get sloppy with the ball at the start of the second half, turning it over on their first 2 possessions. Then Trenton Dorn gets a bucket a minute into the half to get the scoring started. Mosinee would go on a 10-0 run in the first 3 minutes of the half. New London would respond with a 5-0 run of their own 40-25. With seven and half to play, Davin Stoffel is fed on a fast break and slams the ball home with two hands, 51-40.
Mosinee would outscore New London in the remainder of the game 14-12, to pull away with a 65-52 win over New London, advancing to 17-1 on the season. Mosinee would force another 5 turnovers in the second half as well as getting 13 stops, adding another 3 kills to the total for the night, including 4 stops/turnovers in New London’s last four possessions of the night.
