(OnFocus) To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Marshfield Clinic Health System YMCA will close Wednesday, March 18 until Monday, April 6.

“It is probable that this date could change as we learn more on the fight against community spread of the coronavirus,” stated CEO John Nystrom in a letter. “This closure is preventative in nature. We have not had a confirmed case or exposure in our YMCA facility at this time. All program/activity participants will be contacted with specific information regarding their registration.”

Child care services will remain open to working families and emergency personnel during this period. For those enrolled in Y’s Child Care or School-Age Care Program, the YMCA will remain open during normal hours.

“We are aligning with our community partners to serve parents who must work, including health care workers, first responders, and ‘essential’ employees protecting our community,” said Nystrom. “These families need safe and reliable places for their children, and we will be there for them.”

To promote health goals during the closure, the YMCA is offering a fitness program for adults and kids at home, accessible at ymca360.org.
