Marshfield School Forest Fireplace Damaged by Explosive Device

Marshfield, WI (OnFocus) The Wood County Sheriff’s Department is investigating criminal damage to a wood-burning fireplace and chimney at Marshfield School Forest located in the Town of Rock.

An item dropped down the chimney from the roof of a building on the property exploded and caused significant damage. The fireplace was installed five years ago and cost $6,000.

The crime is believed to have occurred sometime between noon on Wednesday, August 21 and the late morning hours of Thursday, August 22.
