The School District of Marshfield addressed a possible bomb threat written on bathroom stalls at Marshfield High School.

The district became aware of the messages Monday afternoon. The handwritten message said “bomb” followed by the date 12-18-19.

In a statement, the district said the “School Administration is actively investigating this threat along with the Marshfield Police Department. As this is an active investigation, there is nothing more we can share at this time. We will share more information as it becomes available and can be released.”

The district stated it was not aware of any immediate threat to the high school, but said there would be additional law enforcement presence at the school in the coming days as a precaution.

Update Dec. 10, 12:30 p.m.:

A report that a second threat was made Tuesday is false. OnFocus learned that a possible second threat was written on a bathroom stall similar to Monday’s threat and included the date 12/18/19. After investigation by the Marshfield Police Department, this alleged second threat was reported to be a remnant from Monday that had not yet been removed.

No further information regarding Monday’s incident is being released at this time.
