The School District of Marshfield released a statement Friday regarding its response to COVID-19:

Effective immediately, the School District of Marshfield is cancelling and discontinuing all non-essential gatherings and activities in and outside of the school day.

This includes, for example, but is not necessarily limited to extended field trips, music concerts, dances, student assemblies, banquets, etc.

The following is a sample listing of activities, in the near future, that have been cancelled:

-Middle School Dance, March 13
-Strings Fest (@ MHS, grades 5-12), March 15
-Middle School Pops Concert, March 20
-Madison Elementary CLC Family Literacy Engagement Night, March 24

For the time being, these cancellations will be effective through Spring Break week, which is scheduled for March 30 – April 3, 2020.

The status of gatherings and activities thereafter will be reviewed and updated as we get closer to the start of April. If you have any questions or concerns about gatherings or activities at your child(ren)’s school, please contact the building administration at your school(s).

Regarding athletics and other school-sponsored co-curricular activities, we are assessing the rapidly changing situation and will release a separate statement soon regarding school district plans.
