Which are the safest cities in Wisconsin?

The top five are Cedarburg, Oregon, New Berlin, Waunakee, and Mequon, according to the National Council for Home Safety and Security, also known as Alarms.org, which uses FBI Uniform Crime Report statistics to calculate its results.

Of the 79 Wisconsin cities with populations above 10,000 that were part of the rankings, Marshfield listed at 32, above neighboring locations like Stevens Point (40), Wausau (42), and Wisconsin Rapids (76).

According to the results, Wisconsin is the 7th safest state for violent crimes and 10th for property crimes. Marshfield has considerably more property crimes than violent crimes, ranking 11th safest in the state for the latter at .653 violent crimes per 1000 people. In comparison, Milwaukee ranks 15.974 violent crimes per 1000 people, the highest in Wisconsin.

“Despite there always being room for improvement, I am very happy with how our police force is protecting the community,” said Police Chief Rick Gramza. “We are a leader in Central Wisconsin and, according to the numbers, in the State of Wisconsin for communities our size. We will continue our commitment to reducing crime and fear by actively and progressively policing our community.”
