Marshfield Fire & Rescue Garbage Truck Load Caught on Fire
OnFocus – Marshfield Fire and Rescue responded with Engines 1 and 3 to the parking lot of UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield.
The initial call indicated that Advanced Disposal picked up what they considered to be a “hot load” which then began smoldering. The load is believed to have originated on Sycamore, involving hot ashes. The driver then dumped the load in the parking lot.
MFRD used one line from the engine to extinguish the fire. No injuries or damage at this time. Cause is under investigation.
