Smoke Traced to Transformer

Marshfield Fire & Rescue was dispatched to the Marshfield Clinic at 6:21 a.m. in response to a general fire alarm. Further information from dispatch reported that there was light smoke coming from the ground floor of the clinic building, possibly involving a transformer.

Upon arrival, responders went into the room to assess which equipment the smoke was coming from and contacted Marshfield Utilities. Responders stood by with fire extinguishers.

The transformer was de-energized and the clinic switched to emergency backup power for part of the building. Once de-energized, the smoke reduced.
