Marshfield Chaparrals Take Win Over Medford Moon Dogs

Marshfield (OnFocus)- The Chaparrals are now 2-0 in their Dairyland season after a win over the Medford Moon Dogs 4-3 on Sunday night at Jack Hackman Field.

The first run for the Chaparrals was by Nate McDonald, who made it on base at his first at-bat with a hit by pitch and scored on a passed ball.

Their next run was from Luke Wirtz’ double to right-center field sending Victor Gonzalas to the plate and earning Wirtz a single. Wirtz was sent home by a single from Jason Kunth to grab the 3-0 lead in the 6th inning.

In the 7th, Trent Woeboking of the Moon Dogs made it across the plate on a wild pitch, Caleb Guden singled Kole Karaba through and Bradyn Boi also scored tying the game 3-3.

Victor Gonzalas scored the final run of the game on a passed ball, taking the lead and the win 4-3.

With one chance left for the Moon Dogs, the Chaparrals closed the last inning with a new pitcher, Ethan Peters, who shut it down with two called strikeouts.
