Marshfield boys win team title, girls second at Wisconsin Dells Track Invitational

WISCONSIN DELLS – Marshfield won the boys team title and the girls finished second as the Tigers racked up nine event victories at the Wisconsin Dells Track Invitational on Friday at Wisconsin Dells High School.

The Marshfield boys team had four event wins and finished with 144 points, 13 ahead of second-place DeForest. The Marshfield girls won five events and had 120 points, seven shy of first-place Medford.

Winners for the Marshfield girls were Carly Brickley in the 100 meters (13.23 seconds), Molly Meyers in the shot put (39 feet, 5 inches), Nadia Ougayour in the discus (116-3), Gracie Holland in the pole vault (11-0), and the 400-meter relay team of Brickley, Alexis Daul, Kaydee Johnson and Holland (51.95).

Holland took second in the long jump (16-5), Jerica Mueller finished third in the 800 meters (2:35.67), Ougayour was third in the shot put (35-10½), Lindsey Steffen was third in the high jump (4-10), and Sophie Nikolay took third in the pole vault (8-0) for the Tigers.

Caden Pearce won the boys 200 (22.65) and 400 meters (51.06) to lead the way for the Marshfield boys. He also finished second in the 100 meters (11.31).

Joshua McKee finished first in the 3,200 meters in 10:18.45) and Joey Goettl won the triple jump with a jump of 44-2 for Marshfield’s other two wins.

Addison Hill was second (51.74) and Jackson Ott third (53.03) in the 400 for Marshfield.

The Tigers also had second-place finishes from Joseph McKee in the 1,600 (4:40.27), Carter Chojnacki in the 3,200 (10:18.57), Kyle Tremelling in the 300 hurdles (42.55), and the 1,600 relay team of Hill, Ott, Jaiger Halvorson and Goettl (3:30.86).

Adam Maki took third in the pole vault (12-6), and the Tigers’ 800 and 3,200 relay teams also finished third.

Marshfield will compete at the Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet at D.C. Everest on Tuesday.
