Marshfield boys tennis opens season with win at Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield boys tennis team won three of the four singles matches, and had two more victories in doubles, as it defeated Stevens Point 5-2 in its season and Wisconsin Valley Conference openers on Tuesday at Stevens Point Area Senior High.

Sam Haessly (No. 1), Calvin Lawler (No. 2) and Ryan Paulman (No. 3) won singles matches in straight sets for the Tigers.

Marshfield’s No. 1 doubles team of Jared Cordova and Will Fay, and the No. 2 team of Lucas Paulman and Sam Roherty, also won in straight sets.

Marshfield returns to action April 16 at home against Holmen.
