Marshfield boys swimming drops dual at unbeaten D.C. Everest

WESTON – Undefeated D.C. Everest won nine of the 11 varsity races and took second in eight to outpace Marshfield 119-50 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys swimming dual meet on Thursday night at D.C. Everest High School.

Ben Halambeck, Brennan Neitzel and Payton Rudeen each won two individual races for D.C. Everest, which also won two of the three relays in which Halambeck was part of both.

Myles Jensen won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:55.02, and the 400 freestyle relay team of Jeffrey Berres, Eli Swansen, Ethan Dagit and Jensen won in 3:46.03 for Marshfield’s lone victories.

Jensen finished second in the 500 freestyel (5:17.56), Jacob Dick was second in the 200 individual medley (2:23.05), and Dagit took second in the 50 freestyle (23.85) for Marshfield’s runner-up finishes.

D.C. Everest is now 4-0 and Marshfield falls to 2-2 in Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meets this season.

Marshfield will compete at the Eau Claire North Invitational on Saturday and will host Wisconsin Rapids in a WVC dual on Dec. 20.
