Marshfield (OnFocus) – Marshfield Area United Way is celebrating the beginning of summer by hosting two events this week.

First, volunteers are needed to participate in the Downtown Clean-Up Monday, June 21, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. This event is partnered with Main Street Marshfield.

Second, Children’s Book Swap will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Celebrate the first week of summer with Marshfield Area United Way and attend these events.

Downtown Clean-Up is a great event to help beautify the streets of Marshfield and give back to the city we call home. The Downtown Clean-Up is a great volunteer opportunity for friends, family, coworkers or groups. Volunteers interested in helping on this day can send an email to [email protected] or call 715-384-9992.

The second event, Children’s Book Swap, has hundreds of books for your child to choose from to keep reading fun and exciting this summer. Have some older books your kids don’t read any more? Bring them with and swap them out for “new” ones.

Downtown-Clean-up Volunteers will gather at Hardacre Park at 2 p.m.to receive a map, garbage bag and gloves. Volunteers will then walk to their street assignment. A light snack and water will be provided.

Children’s Book Swap attendees can meet in the Grant Elementary School, 425 W Upham Street, in the parking lot anytime from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to pick out some picks or drop them off.

Events will be held weather permitting. Please watch United Way’s Facebook page for any changes to the schedule. Please contact United Way at 715-384-9992 with any questions.
