Marathon County Law Enforcement Seeks Wanted Felon Joseph Unger

OnFocus – Members of the Central WI Narcotics Task Force and Marathon County SWAT, and Mosinee Police Department executed a search warrant in the early morning hours of Friday, October 2, 2020, at a residence in the City of Mosinee.

Located in this residence were five long guns, three hand guns, one sawed off shotgun, methamphetamine, and other drug paraphernalia. These items were found in a room reportedly occupied by Joseph G. Unger, a felon on Probation and Parole. The AR-15 style rifle and the 1911 handgun were both loaded and easily accessible. The other firearms were in a safe.

Unger will be facing charges of, Felon in Possession of Firearms, Felon in Possession of a short barreled shotgun, Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia. Unger is considered armed and dangerous and asked to turn himself in.

The Central Wisconsin Narcotics Task Force and Marathon County SWAT are made up of Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement, along with local EMS. They were assisted by the Mosinee Police Department this morning.
