Many Local Teams Ranked in Top 10 of the Wissports.net Coaches Polls

Wissports.net released their Week 1 Football Coaches Poll and Central Wisconsin has at least one team ranked in five of the eight divisions, including one number one team.

Division 1
DC Everest comes into the poll at 7 after a 41-0 dismantling of Wisconsin Rapids.

Division 2
VFA member Hortonville is ranked at 5, they have not played a game yet this year but will open their season against DC Everest on Friday night.

Division 3
The Medford Raiders are ranked 8 after their 52-7 thrashing of Hayward on Friday night, they will host Antigo this week. You can watch that game live at onfcous.news/sports.

The Merrill Bluejays are right behind them at 9, they beat Ashland 20-14, they will host Lakeland on Friday night.

Division 5
Four local teams are ranked in Division 5.

The Amherst Falcons come in at 2, they beat Weyauwega-Fremont 42-14, they host Nekoosa on Friday night.

The Stratford Tigers come in at 3, they took down Wittenberg-Birnamwood last week 35-6, they host Weyauwega-Fremont on Friday night.

Spencer/Columbus is ranked 8 this week, they beat Nekoosa 27-8 on Friday night, they host Manawa this Friday night, you can watch that game as well at onfocus.news/sports.

The Colby Hornets round out the four coming in at 9, they beat Thorp on Friday night 55-7, they will travel north this Friday and take on Hurley.

Division 7
The Edgar Wildcats are ranked No. 1 this week after a 37-8 win over Athens, they will take on a huge task this Friday as they will head down to the La Crosse Area and take on D3 No. 4 Onalaska.

8-Player
Four local teams are ranked in 8 Player.

The Newman Catholic Cardinals are ranked 2 after a 35-16 win over Greenwood. They take on Marion/Tigerton on Friday night.

The Gilman Pirates are ranked 4 after a 53-0 win over Bruce. They will take on No. 7 Phillips this Friday night.

The Auburndale Eagles are ranked 8 after a 76-22 win over Sevastopol, they are off until October 10th when they will host Sevastapol, you can watch that game live at onfocus.news/sports.

Port Edwards is ranked 9, they beat Marion/Tigerton 62-14, they take on Tri-County this Friday night.
