Man Arrested After Town of Hansen Drug Search Warrant

TOWN OF HANSEN, WI (OnFocus) -On October 6, 2022, the Wood County Sheriff’s Department along with several other agencies executed five search warrants in the Town of Hansen and Village of Vesper where a large quantity methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin were seized from inside the these residences. Investigators also seized a large quantity of United States currency along with drug paraphernalia during the search.

One of the seven arrested on October 6, 2022 was John M. Brogan (Age 42). Mr. Brogan was placed on a $10,000 cash bond and was bonded out of the Wood County Jail by a family member on October 14, 2022 .

Over the past several weeks, investigators from the Wood County Sheriff’s Department have been receiving information that Brogan was still using and selling controlled substances. On December 9, 2022, a traffic stop was conducted in the early morning hours, which lead to Brogan being arrested for Possession of THC and Felony Bail Jumping.

Information was obtained and a search warrant was executed on Brogan’s residence where methamphetamine, THC, and drug paraphernalia were seized.

Multiple charges will be forwarded to the Wood County District Attorney Office including:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine > Repeat Offender
  • Possession of THC
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Bail J umping – Felony

“Wood County Sheriffs Department continues the relentless pursuit of individuals who deliver these types of dangerous drugs within our communities and will not stand for individuals who have total disregard for the law,” stated Wood County Lt. Scott Goldberg. “Prior to Mr. Brogan’s arrest on December 9, 2022, members of the Wood County Sheriffs Department attempted to make contact with Mr. Brogan to provide treatment options and support, but those attempts were unsuccessful. We can only help those who want to be helped. With that said, we also support any individual who is struggling with addiction and hope they will seek treatment.”
