Loyal’s Savannah Schley: There’s Always a Bigger Picture and a Better Plan

Loyal (OnFocus) – Loyal’s Savannah Schley has been a difference-maker for the Greyhounds throughout her career, excelling in cross country, basketball, and track and field.

Schley is a four-time entrant to the State Cross Country Meet, and earned a chance to be profiled for OnFocus readers with the world famous interview and famous question:

‘Pancakes or Waffles?’ 

OnFocus: What classes are you taking this year?

Schley: DC Accounting, Spanish 4, Chem 2, and English Honors.

OnFocus: What is your favorite class?

Schley: Lunchtime.

OnFocus: What words of wisdom can you give to other student-athletes?

Schley: There is always a bigger picture and a better plan ;).

OnFocus: What are your hobbies?

Schley: Being outside, eating, learning Tik Toks, watching Disney plus.

OnFocus: Who is/was your favorite teacher?

Schley: I cannot say in case any of my teachers are reading this, lol.

OnFocus: What is the most unusual food you have eaten?

Schley: Alligator.

OnFocus: What is your favorite music to listen to?

Schley: Disney soundtracks.

OnFocus: What are your plans after high school?

Schley: I plan to attend college and continue to run.

OnFocus: If they made a movie about you, and your life, what would it be called?

Schley: ‘Good Times with Sav.’

OnFocus: What sports do you play?

Schley: I play basketball and run cross country & track and field.

OnFocus: Which teammate would you not want to be stranded with on a deserted island?

Schley: I wouldn’t want to be stranded with Leah Scherer; I fear we wouldn’t get much done aside from laughing.

OnFocus: What is your most memorable moment as an athlete?

Schley: Either my first time qualifying for state or winning my sectional last year.

OnFocus: Who is your favorite athlete?

Schley: Remi Geiger :).

OnFocus: What do you enjoy most about playing home games?

Schley: The turnout from the people in the community; but for basketball specifically I’d say picking our own jams for the warmup :).

OnFocus: What’s the best thing about being a student-athlete at Loyal?

Schley: The support of the administration and community.

OnFocus: What words of wisdom can you give to other student-athletes?

Schley: There is always a bigger picture and a better plan ;).

OnFocus: Lastly, pancakes or waffles?

Schley: Waffles! Especially the ones you get at the hotel.
