ARRL Field Day is June 25

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Marshfield Area Amateur Radio Society (MAARS) will be demonstrating the capabilities of Ham Radio to the public during Field Day (ham radio’s open house) on June 25. Every June, more than 40,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio’s science, skill and service to their communities and nation. The annual event, which has taken place since 1933, combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills, and remains the most popular event in ham radio.

Marshfield’s event will take place at M106 N. Peach St., Marshfield WI 54449 (just north of Pet Supplies Plus) on Saturday, June 25 from 9:00am – 5:00pm. An actual radio station will be set up on the grounds, operating several different modes of radio communications.
