"Goldie" at Hub City Days in Marshfield, WI

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Goldie, a well preserved 1951 School Bus named after Elwood Kobussen, has been making the rounds at car shows in Central Wisconsin. Featuring a 19’ Wane body mounted on a Dodge pick up chassis, this unique vehicle is owned by Kobussen Coach Co.

“Goldie is entirely unique and always brings a smile to everyone’s face!” said Brianna Darrow, Trip Dispatch. “Students and members of our community love to see Goldie pop up from time to time!”

Kobussen began with a rich history back in 1938 when Elwood Kobussen was chosen by the Kaukauna Board of Education to transport out-of-town students to and from the Kaukauna High School.

“From the birth of Kaukauna Bus Service, to the Kobussen Buses LTD we all know it as today, it has been incredibly important to the owners to carry on the family values and safe driving legacy,” said Darrow. “We all live by the Kobussen golden rule, ‘Family Pride in Every Ride.'”

Darrow added that Kobussen is currently hiring, offering competitive pay and a sign-on bonus.

“Dan and Joe Kobussen have given us an amazing place to work and we ride in eco-friendly style in our 2020 International buses all propane powered, and soon to join our fleet, 2021 Internationals,” she said. “We also have high-end Coach buses that seat 56 passengers with an unsurpassed view and comfortable ride.”
