OnFocus- Wenzel Family Plaza’s water feature is a popular attraction during the warmer months, and now visitors can enjoy something special during the colder months, too.
A new ice rink is underway at the downtown location, expected to be available to use this weekend. In the original plans for Wenzel Family Plaza, an ice rink was a proposed feature.
As of publication time, the rink was being filled with water. Cooler temperatures this week should help ensure it is ready for use soon, but the public are asked to stay off the rink until the City deems it safe for use. Keep an eye on signage at the plaza for usage information.
“We are very excited to bring an ice skating rink to the Wenzel Family Plaza this year!” said Nicki Ryner, Plaza Director. “It has been something we’ve wanted to do since the plaza opened. We hope to announce an opening date soon but that is dependent on weather. Once the rink opens, hours will be 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. We request visitors mask up and stay distanced while enjoying the rink. As the downtown hub of Marshfield, I can’t wait to see this space being utilized this Winter!”
More details about the rink are forthcoming.
