Abbotsford (OnFocus) – A 16-6 halftime lead for Hurley quickly turned into a runaway win for the Northstars, as a second half-outburst gave Hurley a 54-14 win over the Falcons in the regular season finale.

Neither team could capitalize on drives in the opening quarter, but Hurley struck first at the start of the second quarter, as Derek Ransinici caught a 46 yard touchdown pass from Ayden Leinon.

Abbotsford came right back on their next possession, as running back Ty Falteisek scored on an 11 yard reception from quarterback JV Castillo.

Hurley took control to start the third quarter, wasting no time to strike. Fullback Max Blamey rumbled 56 yards on the Northstars’ first play of the quarter, and pushed Hurley’s lead to 24-6.

Falteisek added a 37 yard rushing touchdown on the Falcons’ opening drive of the second half, and it appeared the teams were in a shootout. It turned out, however, that it would be all Hurley the rest of the way.

Hurley needed just two plays to score on their next possession, and a 30 point third quarter put the game out of reach.

Falteisek rushed for 131 yards on 19 carries for the Falcons.

Castillo added 110 yards on 17 carries for Abbotsford.
