Marshfield, WI – The Main Street Board of Directors has been evaluating the pros and cons of holding Hub City Days in the midst of a pandemic.

After significant discussion, they have determined Hub City Days should be cancelled in 2020. Main Street Marshfield looks forward to the 2021 event, sure to be an incredible reunion for all participants.

“Main Street Marshfield is celebrating our 30 Year Anniversary this year. While we would love to celebrate by hosting Hub City Days, we have decided that our efforts should be focused on the needs of downtown businesses at this time. We want downtown businesses to be thriving and our community to be healthy. We look forward to celebrating with the community at Hub City Days 2021,” said Board President Jenna Hanson, (Children’s Hospital Wisconsin).

“As much as it saddens me that we’re holding off on Hub City Days, I feel it makes sense right now. This event draws participants from all over Wisconsin. Proper distancing and procedures would be difficult to enforce for an event of this size. I really look forward to gathering together as a community again very soon,” said Board Member Kristen Niehaus, (Owner of Split Ends).

“Many businesses, volunteers, and sponsors have built Hub City Days over the years. We’re grateful for their investment. Main Street Marshfield is adapting 2020 plans, remaining committed to our mission: energize and strengthen Downtown Marshfield. Partners will have opportunities to collaborate in new ways, like sharing in the ‘Shop Local. Love Local.’ campaign,” said Executive Director Kaelie Gomez.

Main Street Marshfield’s primary goal in 2020 is to serve Downtown businesses and property owners in safe, sustainable ways. Downtown businesses looking for resources regarding available funding, developing an online strategy, or health/safety can reach out to Main Street Marshfield.
