Marshfield, WI (OnFocus) A bail/bond hearing was held today at Wood County Courthouse for Robert Wild, the Marshfield man charged with two misdemeanor counts of intentionally mistreating animals for allegedly leaving newborn puppies in a dumpster on February 28.
At his original plea hearing, Wild was ordered to not intentionally mistreat an animal.
After the initial appearance, an additional motion was made to remove the animals in Wild’s home as part of his bond condition. If passed, this would have meant Wild could have no animals in his possession for at least the duration of the trial.
This morning, Wild appeared in court with attorney Gary J. Kryshak, with Craig Lambert appearing for the State of Wisconsin.
The court reviewed the motion to modify bond from the State regarding the condition to the signature bond regarding having no animals. Attorney Kryshak opposed the modification and the Court denied the modification.
Wild will maintain possession of animals at this time. A final pre-trail hearing will take place on June 21.
The puppies were found by door-to-door sales representative Mark Theobald, who alerted authorities. The puppies were taken to Marshfield Area Pet Shelter and have since been adopted.
