FOUND: Green Alert Issued for Veteran Last Seen in Clark County

A Green Alert has been issued for a missing Madison veteran deemed at risk.

Daniel Nelson Lee Werner, 34, was last seen in Clark County at the Clerk of Courts office on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. It is believed he is driving a rental vehicle, a silver 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander with Wisconsin plate ABT7252.

He is 5 feet, 10 inches tall with brown hair and eyes, and weighs 175 pounds. On his right arm, there is a tattoo of Africa with a crown on it.

If spotted, do not approach but contact your local police department.

Eau Claire Police Department received information at 6 a.m. Thursday morning that Werner was in the Eau Claire area and made comments about his welfare as well as threats toward law enforcement. The department has interviewed friends and family and coordinated efforts with other agencies to locate him.

A Green Alert has been issued as Werner is a veteran who served several tours overseas.
