MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Former Marshfield Police Department police chief Rick Gramza was originally scheduled to begin a trial on Dec. 15, but the trial has been postponed according to Wisconsin Circuit Court records. The charges stem from a November 6, 2020 complaint.

Gramza is currently facing two misdemeanor charges. One of 4th degree sexual assault and one of disorderly conduct. Three felony Misconduct/Office-Act/Excess Authority charges were dismissed by Portage County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Eagon.

Gramza was scheduled to appear before a 12-person jury and had entered a not guilty plea to the two counts against him. It is unclear if the trial will still take place at a different time or if it is going to be dismissed.

Gramza resigned from his duties in March of 2021 amid allegations of sexual assault.
