Marshfield (OnFocus) – The first annual Bluff to Bluff bicycle race will take place Sunday, August 9th at Powers Bluff Park in Arpin. The 44.69 mile bike ride will begin and end at the top of Powers Bluff recreational area.

Ralph Bredl, one of the coordinators of the race, says the event was inspired by a “desire to bring bike racing back to Wisconsin.”

There are different age divisions, allowing participants from under fourteen years old to eighty-four years old to compete. There will also be cash “preems” awarded to the first male and female to reach specific points on the race trail.

Registration for the event begins at 8:30am on August 9th in the shelter house of Powers Bluff. The registration fee is $50 to register the day of the race, but $40 if registering in advance using this link https://www.visitwausau.com/bluff-to-bluff-road-race. The Bluff to Bluff Race team is confident they can provide a safe environment for attendees during the COVID-19 pandemic. The race’s Facebook page notes, “We have received quality counsel from a wide range of recognized experts and believe with confidence the positives continue to outweigh the negatives. All event processes will be conducted with Covid containment in mind.” COVID guidelines for the race will be updated via their Facebook page as the race day gets closer.
