Marshfield, WI (OnFocus) From mantel to hearth, businesses “Fireplace Supply” and “We Fix Fireplaces” in Marshfield Mall are the experts when it comes to designing, installing, and servicing fireplaces.
“We have specialized for a while in fixing fireplaces and that side of our business is pretty simple. We call it ‘We Fix Fireplaces,'” said Scott Kunkel, owner of both business.
A partner to “We Fix Fireplaces,” Fireplace Supply boasts the largest showroom in Central Wisconsin, with more than 70 models in stock for potential buyers to experience firsthand before purchasing.
Specializing in gas fireplaces and inserts, Kunkel works with builders and customers to ensure everyone is happy with the end product in the home.
“We sell directly to builders and generally builders don’t have a place to show their fireplaces, so they enjoy sending their customers down,” he said. “We set up an appointment, meet with them, and walk them through the process based on what they are looking to do. The builder then just has to focus on the framing details.”
If customers are having problems with their current fireplace or insert, Kunkel’s team can also assist.
“If you own a gas fireplace or gas insert and you are having problems, feel free to get ahold of us and we can do a cleaning and an assessment of what you have going on,” he said, adding that We Fix Fireplaces does inspect fireplaces for current residents and prospective buyers.
“A fireplace can be a big reason why people choose to buy the home that they do,” said Kunkel. “If you are going to sell your home, it not only brings the value of your home up but it does make it more sale-able.”
Kunkel enjoys sharing the benefits of fireplaces with people and helping them to achieve their fireplace dreams.
“Generally people are very excited to get a fireplace and they are not disappointed after they get it,” he said. “It just allows you to enjoy the 2-3 hours you get to spend in your home in the evening. These are very important times you get to spend with your family and you don’t have to be cold.”
Aside from the obvious comfort benefits of having a fireplace are the practical reasons.
“It’s a great efficient way to heat your home and it is more comfortable heat than, for example, a forced air furnace,” said Kunkel. “A fireplace is radiating- it’s not drafting. It not only warms the air: it warms you, your couch, your carpet, your ceiling. After it’s been running for an hour or so, it’s radiating warm from not only the fire but everything around you.”
Fireplaces can also save money because they are zone heating.
“It may be an even trade off as far as your fuel bill, but it’s going to be more comfortable in the rooms that you are in and you won’t be wasting heat on the rooms you aren’t in,” he explained.
No matter the reason for wanting a fireplace, Kunkel is proud to be a one-stop shop for any fireplace needs.
“One of the things that allows us to be unique is this is all that we do,” he said. “We just have more experience not only on how it’s done, but how to do it safely.”
