Special Meeting Will Include Closed Session Discussion Related to Mayor McManus

OnFocus – On Friday, January 22 at 7:30am, there will be a special meeting of Marshfield’s Fire & Police Commission to review the investigative report from Portage County related to Mayor Bob McManus.

McManus is under investigation for possible misconduct in public office relating to an open records violation. In August 2020, Detective Sgt Jason Meidl was assigned to investigate.

Fire & Police Commission will meet via electronic means on Friday, with the first agenda item being to adjourn to Closed Session under Wisconsin State Statutes Chapter 19.85(1)(f), “Considering financial, medical, social or personal histories or disciplinary data of specific persons, preliminary consideration of specific personnel problems or the investigation of charges against specific persons except where par, (b) applies which, if discussed in public, would be likely to have a substantial adverse effect upon the reputation of any person referred to in such histories or data, or involved in such problems or investigations.”

After Closed Session, the commission will reconvene into Open Session and act on matters discussed, if appropriate.

The meeting can be viewed LIVE via the City of Marshfield website at ci.marshfield.wi.us. The meeting was signed off on by former Alderman and Commission Secretary Gordy Earll.
