OnFocus – A Marshfield woman battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is seeking assistance for medical costs. Carrie Lovelace was diagnosed in August – shortly after getting married and midway through her graduate program.

“Carrie was living in Madison, WI, attending UW-Madison when her symptoms began,” said Katie Badker, Carrie’s sister. “She was pursuing her Master’s Degree in Environmental Conservation. When she received her diagnosis she made the tough decision to put school on hold. Carrie and her husband Kyle decided to return home to receive treatment through the Marshfield Clinic and to be close to family. She does hope to return to Madison and continue her program once she is healthy again.”

Carrie was diagnosed after struggling with a cough for months.

“She had stage 2 Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which is thankfully very treatable,” said Katie. “She went through 6 months of chemo and is currently completing a month of radiation. After radiation she should be done with treatment and will be monitored with scans, appointments, and blood tests for five years.”

During this time, the young couple is surviving on one income, with husband Kyle working as a fleet manager at Roehl Transport.

Those wishing to help Carrie can donate via GoFundMe [DONATE HERE] or send a check to: Carrie Lovelace, 6317 Richfield Dr Arpin, WI 54410

“We absolutely appreciate the community’s support. Anything that is above and beyond medical costs will be donated to research for lymphoma,” said Katie.
